Reynaers products have enhanced both the aesthetic and performance of the building using the Concept System 68 Aluminium Door and Concept Wall 50 ‘High Insulating’ aluminium curtain wall. Fabricated by Aluminium Glass Facades Ltd (AGF) and installed by Century Facades Ltd, the products ensure maximum daylight floods both student bedrooms and communal spaces as well as offering optimum insulation and security. This stunning 611-unit student building and accompanying urban domain have been constructed by modular assembly methods using industry-leading pre-fabricated units. The pioneering concept has not gone un-noticed, having scooped the renowned prize in the ‘‘Best Multiple Residence for London’’ in the International Property Awards. Rebecca Cope, Marketing Manager at Reynaers, said: ‘‘Sherwood Court offers an outstanding living space for students. It is a sensitive yet innovative project which has provided a positive contribution to the Lewisham Town Centre Redevelopment plan. Our involvement in the build is something we are really proud of.’’ Vision Modular Systems, based in central England, constructed the units before delivering them to site. The pre-fabricated system offered a minimised erection period of just three months as well as dramatically reducing on-site waste, associated traffic, dust and CO2 pollution. Elegantly landscaped gardens encircle the building and accentuate the existing trees and foliage. Situated next to the towns’ railway line the project complies with the UK national planning policy favouring growth around transport hubs.
